So I’m beginning to prepare for the upcoming Extended PTQ season. Right now I’m liking UW Tron a lot, mostly because it’s powerful, draws a million cards, and doesn’t really care about Counterbalance.

It’s largely your standard-fare list.
3 Pristine Angel: I sort of liked having Exalted Angels as a big non-artifact win condition that just stomps aggro cold, but they had a slight problem: they do that “dying” thing. With the aggro decks running full sets of Tribal Flames and Vindicates most of the time, Exalted Angel’s life is difficult. Pristine Angel is not going to ever die unless you are forced to Wrath or you bluff having an instant and get called on it. These have been nothing short of amazing.
3 Decree of Justice: Most lists I’ve seen run only one or two. This list doesn’t run any Remands or Repeals, so the extra card with cycling is helpful. This card is pretty much the deck’s only out to Gaddock Teeg outside of beating it to the table with a Chalice or EE for two.
4 Chalice of the Void: These have been great most of the time. Opening with one of these set to one early in the game really sets back much of the format, and playing one at two down the road virtually locks up a number of decks. Since I’m only running four counters and no Nakamura-style Meddling Mages, these have been pretty essential for beating combo. Unlike the Mage, these are also often effective against aggressive decks.
[SB] 4 Kami of Ancient Law: In the event that the Ideal deck manages to get Ideal off before you can set up the Mindslaver lock, this is an out to their board you can play through Dovescape. Basically, if they’ve already gotten Dovescape, Confinement, and Form, you go ahead and play whatever spells you need to make at least five bird tokens, then play a Kami, blow Confinement up, and smash for the win. Yes, this plan loses if they get Deed before Dragon, but the idea is to catch them off guard with the Kami. This plan has worked well so far, but these would be fine going back to being Meddling Mages.
[SB] 4 Porphyry Nodes: I felt that the deck needed three more anti-aggro cards, and I went with these because they let me destroy Teeg. The biggest issue with them is that half of the deck’s mana sources capable of making white make UW and not just W, so you’ll often be taking a crucial point of mana burn when you play one of these. Still, I can’t come up with anything better for this slot; Repeal isn’t good enough, and neither Sun Droplet nor Ghostly Prison do nearly enough against decks with Tarmogoyf and Tribal Flames.
